Workshop on Basics of Ethical Hacking

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) successfully organized a three-day workshop titled “Basics of Ethical Hacking” from 16th to 18th July 2025, conducted daily from 10:00 AM to 4:15 PM at BS-14 Lab, B Block (Second Floor). The workshop was coordinated by Mr. Vikas G. Singh, Assistant Professor, with the aim of providing students with foundational knowledge in ethical hacking and cybersecurity practices.

The session was led by the esteemed resource person Mr. Kshitij Barapatre, Senior Consultant at KPMG, Nagpur, who shared his industry expertise and practical insights. The workshop covered essential concepts, tools, and techniques used in ethical hacking to identify, analyze, and mitigate security vulnerabilities in computer systems. Emphasis was placed on responsible and ethical cybersecurity practices aligned with industry standards.

The workshop was attended by all 5th Semester students of the Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) branch, who actively participated in hands-on sessions and discussions. The program proved to be highly informative and beneficial, enhancing students’ practical understanding of cybersecurity and preparing them for real-world challenges in the domain.

The department extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Abhishek Pathak, Hon’ble Head of the Department, Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security), for his constant support and encouragement. His guidance and motivation were instrumental in the successful organization of the workshop and in fostering a strong learning environment for the students.
