Civista 6.0- A Departmental Technical Program

The Department of Civil Engineering, in association with the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) Students Chapter and STHÃPATYA-Association of Civil Engineering Student, organized Civista 6.0 on October 10, 2025. Civista is an annual technical event aimed at fostering technical knowledge, innovation, and collaboration among civil engineering students. It serves as a platform for students to showcase their technical skills and engage in problem-solving activities.

The program commenced with a welcome address to the chief guest, Er. Nitin Jain, DGM – Technical Services (RTSM, RSO Nagpur) Adani Cement (Formerly ACC Limited) and Er. Abhijit Raipurkar, Assistant Manager, Technical Services (RTSM, RSO Nagpur) Adani Cement (Formerly ACC Limited).  This was followed by an introduction to Civista 6.0 and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.

Ms. Lakshita Ganvir, Coordinator of Civista 6.0, provided a brief introduction to the six activities that were part of the event. Dr. Abhay G. Hirekhan, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, emphasized the importance of organizing such programs and highlighted the role of each student in fostering connections within the civil engineering community. Prof. Yogesh S. Lanjewar, Faculty Coordinator, introduced the chief guest, Er. Nitin Jain. In his inspiring speech, the guest highlighted key aspects of civil engineering careers, particularly career in cement industry, teamwork, and ethical practices, motivating students to embrace their responsibilities. Ms. Samruddhi Pande, member of Civista 6.0 team, served as the Master of Ceremony (MOC) for the inaugural program. The inaugural program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Rohan Kohale, Coordinator of Civista 6.0.

More than 200 students participated in the six activities of Civista 6.0. This year’s activities included Cad-Venture, Bridge-A-Ton, Greenovation Quest, Escape room, Meme Verse and Fraud Files. The winners of all activities were felicitated with cash prizes and e-certificates. Ms. Sagrika Dahat served as the MOC during the valedictory program.
