Report on Regional Level Hands-on System Programming Workshop

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, through its ACM CE Student Chapter, in association with the ACM Nagpur Professional Chapter, successfully organized a Regional Level Hands-on System Programming Workshop on Saturday, 1st November 2025. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ practical understanding of system-level programming concepts through interactive sessions led by industry experts.

The workshop featured sessions by industry experts — Mr. Asang Dani (Member of Technical Staff, Arista Networks), and from Persistent Systems, NagpurMr. Manoj Dhanorkar (Principal Architect), Mr. Gunjan Garge (Senior Architect), and Mr. Abhishek Anne (Senior Engineering Lead).

The inaugural session was graced by esteemed guests from the ACM Nagpur Professional ChapterMr. Ravindra Keshkar, Chair of ACM Nagpur Chapter; Mr. Laxman Potbhare, Secretary of ACM Nagpur Chapter and Principal Engineering Manager at Persistent Systems; and Prof. U. A. Deshpande, Head of the Department of CSE, VNIT, Nagpur. The inaugural program was conducted from 9:20 AM to 10:00 AM in Block B, 2nd Floor Auditorium.

Following the inaugural session, the theory session was conducted from 10:00 AM to 4:15 PM, where students explored both fundamental and advanced system programming concepts under expert guidance. Later, the hands-on session was organized in the Computer Labs of the Department of CSE, providing participants with practical exposure to coding, debugging, and real-world implementation. Participants gained valuable practical insights and industry-relevant knowledge.

The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Pallavi Wankhede (Faculty Coordinator), along with student coordinators Manthan Shirke, Adolph Peter, and the ACM Student Team.
