5-Day Workshop on Core Python Programming and Data Science using Python
The Department of Industrial Internet of Things conducted a five-day workshop titled “Core Python Programming and Data Science using Python” from 22nd to 26th September 2025 for Third Semester students. The sessions were held in room F-12, with 68 students participating daily from 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM.
The workshop aimed to build a strong foundation in Python programming and introduce key data science concepts. Dr. Jeeva Jose, Associate Professor from Baselios Poulose II Catholicose College, Kerala, led the sessions. He delivered interactive lectures on core programming techniques and practical Python applications in data science.
Topics included Python basics, control structures, functions, modules, object-oriented programming, file and exception handling, and data science libraries like NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib. Hands-on demonstrations on dataset manipulation and visualization gave students practical experience.
The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. M. Shriraghvan, Prof. Tushar Aneyrao, Prof. Rajeshwari Shinde, and Prof. Snehal Shingode, ensuring smooth execution.
Overall, the workshop enhanced students’ programming skills, deepened their understanding of data analysis, and boosted their confidence to apply Python in IoT and data science projects.
