Guest Lecture Report on Generative AI Applications in IIoT

The Department of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) organized a Guest Lecture on “Generative AI Applications in IIoT” on 24th September 2025 from 11:15 am to 1:15 pm at II floor, Block A, Room no S-06, IIoT Dept. The session was attended by nearly 62 students along with faculty members. The primary objective of the lecture was to expose students to the emerging applications of Generative AI and its integration with Industrial IoT in the context of Industry 4.0.

The resource person for the session was Dr. Vasundhara Rathod CSE Dept, IIIT Nagpur who is an expert in Artificial Intelligence and IoT technologies. The lecture highlighted the applications of Generative AI in predictive modeling, digital twins, design optimization, and industrial automation. The speaker also shared industrial case studies and practical scenarios that demonstrated how Generative AI can accelerate innovation and efficiency in smart industries.

Topics covered during the session included an introduction to Generative AI techniques, integration of AI with IIoT frameworks, the role of digital twins, predictive maintenance applications, and industry-driven examples of AI-driven optimization. The event was successfully coordinated and organized by Prof. Snehal Shingode, Assistant Professor, IIoT Department, with support from the departmental team.

The outcome of the lecture was highly impactful, as students gained valuable insights into cutting-edge technologies that are shaping the future of industrial systems. The session inspired participants to explore AI-based solutions for real-world challenges and enhanced their awareness of career opportunities in Industry 4.0.
