ConvoSphere 2025
The Department of Computer Engineering, in collaboration with the ACM Student Chapter, successfully organized ConvoSphere 2025 on 31st January 2025 at BF-05 (2nd Year CE Classroom). The event aimed to encourage critical analysis of emerging technological trends while challenging participants to reflect on their societal impact. With the objective of developing logical reasoning, structured argumentation, and effective communication, the event provided a vibrant platform for 2nd Year CE (Section B) students to showcase their debating skills.
The event commenced at 11:15 AM with a welcome address, an overview of the objectives, and the announcement of rules and judging criteria, followed by the introduction of judges. The first round, Fact or Fiction (11:25 AM – 12:10 PM), engaged teams in analyzing whether technological trends were practical and beneficial or overhyped and problematic. The top two teams advanced to the final round. The finale, Tech Reality Showdown (12:10 PM – 1:05 PM), featured structured debates on the ethical and societal implications of revolutionary technologies, including opening statements, rebuttals, cross-questioning, and final arguments.
The teams were evaluated on their argument strength, critical thinking, and engagement, leading to the crowning of the Champion of ConvoSphere 2025. The event was coordinated by Prof. Kavita Meshram (Faculty Coordinator), with student coordinators Aayushi Asole, Sharwari Raut, Chinmayee, and Vaibhavi, under the guidance of Dr. Pallavi Wankhede (CE ACM Officer). Overall, ConvoSphere 2025 not only enhanced students’ debating and communication skills but also encouraged them to think critically about the future of technology and society.
