The Department of Civil Engineering in association with ICI Students Chapter and STHÃPATYA- Association of Civil Engineering Students successfully organized a Guest Lecture on “Software’s Used in Civil Engineering” for Second and Third Year Students on 2^nd August 2025. Mr. Sharad Gabhane and Ms. Komal Tatode from Astral Informatics Pvt. Ltd., Nagpur delivered an insightful session covering fundamentals, real-time applications of various softwares used in civil engineering projects, and career prospects in the field.

The main objectives of this lecture to introduce students to the fundamentals and workflow of various Civil Engineering Softwares, to demonstrate how BIM integrates design, construction, and operation processes in real-world civil engineering projects also to explore career opportunities and required skillsets in the field of Civil Engineering. They mentioned the importance of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navis Work, MSPPPM and Primavera softwares.

Students get current industry practices and real-time applications of BIM in infrastructure and building projects. They understand how BIM enhances productivity, coordination, and accuracy in civil engineering. Also improve technical knowledge in digital modeling and data-driven construction.

The session was very informative and interactive, providing students with valuable exposure to industry practices and emerging technologies. Program was coordinated by Prof. Yogesh S. Lanjewar
