Empowering Educators Through STEM A One-Day Expert-Led Workshop
On Sunday, 3rd August 2025, St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology (SVPCET), Nagpur, became a hub for academic exchange and innovation during the STEM–DLD Expert Led Workshop, a collaborative initiative of the CBSE Centre of Excellence (CoE), Pune Region in association with the Nagpur Sahodaya Schools Complex (NSSC). The event drew an enthusiastic response from over 80 school educators and principals representing institutions across Nagpur, Chandrapur, Amravati, and Yavatmal.
The planning and smooth execution of the workshop was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Admission, Media & Public Relations Cell of SVPCET. The Cell played a facilitative role—coordinating with school leadership teams across Vidarbha, ensuring targeted outreach to CBSE Sahodaya clusters. The team also managed the visual identity and tone of the event—reflected in its posters, invitations, and publicity materials which were thoughtfully crafted to align with its academic spirit and professional objectives.
The day unfolded with thought-provoking and interactive sessions delivered by an accomplished panel of experts:
- Dr. Ravindra Keskar, Associate Professor at VNIT Nagpur, addressed strategies to motivate students in STEM and skill-based subjects like AI, Design Thinking, Robotics, Mathematics, and Science Projects.
- Dr. Madhura Kulkarni, Assistant Professor at SVPCET, conducted a hands-on session focused on practical STEM activities and implementation in schools.
- Prof. Pallavi Deshpande, Assistant Professor at SVPCET, explored experiential learning approaches and the role of teacher motivation in creating engaging STEM classrooms.
- Sr. Elizabeth Beena, Counsellor at SVPCET, led a session on gender parity in STEM education, encouraging open reflection on inclusivity and equal opportunity in science and technology fields.
The sessions were anchored by the inaugural address by Dr. Abhranil Banerjee and keynote address of Dr. Yogesh Deshpande, Professor at VNIT Nagpur, who emphasized the importance of equipping school educators to meet the dynamic demands of modern learning environments through design-led thinking and innovation.
Convened under the leadership of Smt. Bharti Bijwe (Chairperson, NSSC), Smt. Vandana Bisen (Secretary, NSSC), Dr. Abhranil Banerjee (SVPCET), and Dr. Madhura Kulkarni (SVPCET), the workshop reinforced the value of collaborative platforms in transforming educational practice.
This successful event adds momentum to SVPCET’s continued efforts to create dynamic learning environments, foster regional academic linkages, and support educators as they shape the next generation of STEM learners
