Industrial visit to Vaibhav Packaging Works, Butibori

On July 19, 2025, (Saturday) at 11:30 AM, the Department of Mechanical Engineering organized an industrial visit for a total of 39 students of the 3rd and 5th semesters to Vaibhav Packaging Works, located in Butibori. Vaibhav Packaging Works is a manufacturer specializing in packaging boxes made from paper rolls of different GSM (grams per square meter). The visit aimed to expose students to the practical aspects of manufacturing and packaging processes.

Vaibhav Packaging Works manufactures a wide range of packaging boxes utilizing paper rolls of different GSM, catering to diverse packaging needs. The factory employs modern machinery to convert raw paper rolls into finished packaging products with precision and efficiency. The company emphasizes quality, sustainability, and automation in its production process.

The visit commenced with a safety briefing and introduction by the plant manager. Students toured various sections, including raw material storage, paper roll processing, printing, cutting, folding, and final packaging. Demonstrations of machines used for converting paper rolls into boxes were conducted, explaining different GSM types and their impact on box strength and usage. Quality control procedures were explained to ensure that the packaging meets client specifications. Discussions with engineers helped students understand mechanical systems, maintenance, and production challenges. The importance of material selection, workflow optimization, and safety compliance was emphasized. Students learned about the end-to-end manufacturing process of packaging boxes. They gained practical knowledge of how paper rolls of different GSM affect product quality. Observing the machinery deepened their understanding of mechanical design and automation. The visit highlighted the role of quality assurance and industrial safety. It bridged the gap between classroom theory and industrial practice.
