Guest Session on "Cyber Crime Awareness and Investigation Techniques"

The Department of Cyber Security organized a guest session on “Cyber Crime Awareness and Investigation Techniques” on April 25th, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the B Block second-floor Auditorium. The session, coordinated by Mr. Sachin Janbandhu, Assistant Professor, was aimed at providing students with practical exposure to real-world cyber-crime scenarios, raising awareness about legal procedures and reporting mechanisms, and educating them on the ethical responsibilities they will face as future cyber security professionals.

The guest speakers for the session were Shri. Shankar Pandhre, Assistant Police Inspector at the Cyber Cell, Nagpur, and Ms. Shraddha Dhomne, Women Head Constable at the Cyber Cell, Nagpur. The session provided valuable insights into modern cyber threats, investigation techniques, and digital safety measures. The speakers highlighted key aspects of cyber-crime, including common types of attacks, legal procedures involved in cyber-crime investigations, and effective ways to report and respond to cyber threats.

Students from the CSE Cyber Security branch attended the session, engaging in discussions about the growing importance of cyber security awareness in today’s digital age. The event also aimed at building a secure and cyber-aware academic community, equipping students with knowledge that would aid them in their future careers.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students had the opportunity to ask questions and clarify doubts. This initiative was a significant step towards enhancing the understanding of cyber security practices among students and fostering collaboration between academia and law enforcement.
