The Department of Industrial IoT, led by Dr. M. Shriraghavan, along with nine students, participated in the GIAN Workshop organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, VNIT Nagpur. The workshop, conducted under the Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN), focused on cutting-edge developments in silicon integrated photonics and their applications in quantum computing and secure communications. It took place from April 7th to 11th, 2025.

Prof. Lorenzo Pavesi, a globally recognized expert in silicon photonics and quantum technology from the University of Trento, Italy, delivered foundational lectures and guided discussions on scalable silicon photonic circuits for quantum computing.

The workshop was highly enriching, providing both theoretical insights and practical experience. It sparked student interest in emerging areas of photonics and quantum technologies.
