SVPCET's Formula Ashwariders Rank 8 at Formula Bharat 2025

The Formula Ashwariders team from SVPCET participated in Formula Bharat 2025 at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, from 22nd to 27th January 2025. Their primary goal was to pass technical inspection on the first day and compete in all dynamic events, aiming for AIR 1. The Mirage FS6 featured a significant 8.5 kg weight reduction through carbon fiber bodywork, along with redesigned drivetrain and wheel assembly for improved performance. Advanced software simulations and real-time telemetry were used to optimize performance.

On 22nd January, the team divided into three groups: On-Site Preparation, BPP Finals Preparation, and Market Research. The On-Site team focused on vehicle readiness, the BPP team refined their presentation, and the Market Research team ensured critical components were available.

On 23rd January, after registration, the vehicle cleared pre-tech and mechanical inspections, though issues discovered in the first Technical Inspection (TI) were addressed overnight.

On 24th January, the team passed mechanical inspection and completed the egress, tilt, and noise tests. However, a brake leak was found during the brake test, which led to repairs, while the BPP team successfully presented.

On 25th January, the team continued to address the brake issue, but a locally sourced master cylinder failed to provide the required pressure. The team arranged for the original Willwood master cylinder to be delivered from Pune. By 26th January, the new master cylinder was installed, and the team passed tilt and noise tests. However, a broken tripod housing prevented a successful brake test, leading to temporary repairs and welding to fix the issue.

On 27th January, the team reassembled the vehicle and sought approval to reattempt the mechanical inspection. Unfortunately, engine issues prevented the brake test from being completed.

At the conclusion of Formula Bharat 2025, the team achieved the following rankings:

  • Business Plan Presentation: AIR 2
  • Cost & Manufacturing Event: AIR 9
  • Engineering Design Presentation: AIR 12
  • Concept Resource Management Report: AIR 13
  • Overall Rank: AIR 8

Looking ahead, the team will focus on improving brake system reliability, increasing vehicle testing, and implementing design changes based on feedback. The team extends heartfelt thanks to Fr.
