Special NSS Camp Organized by NSS Cell and Department of IT at Dongargaon Village

The NSS Cell and the Department of IT jointly organized a Special NSS Camp in Dongargaon village on 7th March 2025, with 60 student volunteers and six faculty coordinators were Dr.Ashlesha Nagpure (Program Officer), Dr. Priti S. Uparkar (IT), Prof. Riddhi Doshi (CE), Prof. Yogesh Lanjewar (CV), Prof. Shilpa Kawale (B. Voc) and Prof. Sachin Patil (AI). The camp began with an inauguration ceremony at the Gram Panchayat Office and the felicitation of the Gram Panchayat head.
The students were divided into three groups for various activities.
Group 1: Zilla Parishad Kendriya Prathmik Shaala
Students from the B.Voc and AI departments conducted a tree plantation drive and held a drawing competition on "Nature" for 1st to 4th standard students. They also organized an interactive session with singing, dancing, storytelling and role playing, and raised awareness about good habits and personal hygiene.
Group 2: Ramchandra Kamdi High School & Junior College
Students from the CE, IT, and Civil departments conducted a Career Guidance session, helping students explore future career options for the 10th grade students.
They also ran a Menstrual Hygiene Awareness session and a Digital Literacy session on basic computer functions, MS Paint, and fundamental digital skills for 9th standard students, alongside a Quiz Competition and Mind Games session to foster learning and creativity.
The interactive rounds included logical puzzles, rapid calculations, and trivia, fostering teamwork and quick thinking. The Riddle Quest and Memory Power Challenge activities encouraged analytical skills, memory retention, and out-of-the-box thinking, ensuring an educational and entertaining experience. NSS volunteers additionally explained various traffic signs and their significance in ensuring safe road usage refereeing to real life scenarios.
Group 3: Session at Silaye Prashikshan Kendra in the Gram Panchayat building
This group focused on educating women on menstrual hygiene, safe practices, and providing sanitary napkins and also made them aware of safety helpline numbers.
The camp concluded with a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, where volunteers and school students cleaned their school premises. The camp successfully promoted education, hygiene, digital literacy, and environmental sustainability.
