Seminar on the Indian Constitution for First-Year Students: Ghar Ghar Constitution Initiative

The National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Department of Engineering, Sciences & Humanities organized a seminar on the Indian Constitution as part of the Ghar Ghar Constitution initiative (2024-25), in alignment with the directive from the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Government of Maharashtra. The seminar was held on February 28, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 4:15 pm at the Academic Block B, 3rd Floor Auditorium. Dr. Sucheta Moharir, Incharge of the Department of ES&H, welcomed all attendees.
The primary objective of the seminar was to educate students about the significance of the Indian Constitution and their rights as responsible citizens. The seminar was graced by distinguished guests: API Parag Ramtke (ANO), API Manoj Kawade (ANO), PSI Jogi Sir (ANO), Mr. Parag Wasnikar, Social Welfare Inspector, and Nilesh Bobade, Social Welfare Department, Nagpur.
PSI Jogi and API Manoj Kawade led the session, offering valuable insights into constitutional awareness and legal matters. They stressed the importance of being vigilant citizens and upholding constitutional principles. Key discussions included fundamental rights and duties, the role of law enforcement and the Social Welfare Department in protecting constitutional values, real-life case studies, and how to identify and protect oneself from individuals who mislead others against constitutional principles.
The seminar was informative and interactive, helping students deepen their understanding of their constitutional rights and responsibilities. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to the dignitaries, guests, faculty coordinators, and organizers for their contributions to the seminar's success.
The program was compered by Ms. Ruchira Bhoyar and conducted under the guidance of Dr. Ashlesha Nagpure, NSS Program Officer, with support from Prof. Namrata Gore and Dr. Jyoti Thakre, Co-Curricular Activity Coordinators, Department of ES&H. The department extends its gratitude to the management and the Principal for their ongoing support in organizing such impactful events.
