The Department of Artificial Intelligence organized an expert session on “Cloud-Based Application Development: The Role of Data Engineering” for third-year AI students on February 7, 2025, from 2:15 PM to 4:15 PM. The session was conducted by Mr. Rajat Dhawale, Senior Data Engineer at Genpact Solutions, Bengaluru, India. The objective of the session was to explore the development of cloud-based applications and the role of data engineering in creating AI-based applications in a cloud environment.

Students gained a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of data engineering, exploring its crucial role in AI, machine learning, and big data analytics. They delved into designing and managing efficient data pipelines, storage solutions, and cloud-based architectures. The session covered cloud-based data engineering tools such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, teaching students how to build scalable data systems. Through practical exposure to data engineering workflows, real-world case studies, and industry best practices, students gained hands-on experience in implementing effective data engineering solutions.
