The R-Lab Centre of Excellence, SVPCET, organized an industrial trip to the V. R. Jamdar Siemens Centre of Excellence (CoE) at VNIT, Nagpur, on 11th February 2025. The goal was to provide 2nd-year Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering students with hands-on exposure to industrial automation, digital manufacturing, and advanced technologies, in line with the R-Lab's objective of fostering industry-oriented learning.

The Siemens CoE at VNIT Nagpur is a cutting-edge facility equipped with industry-grade tools in automation, robotics, mechatronics, and manufacturing. It serves as a hub for research, training, and skill development, offering students and professionals valuable, real-world learning experiences in collaboration with Siemens.

The day began with an introductory session by faculty and experts from Siemens CoE, followed by a tour of the labs, including Automation, Robotics, Digital Manufacturing, and Mechatronics. Students observed demonstrations of key technologies such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, gaining valuable insights into industry-relevant tools.

The program concluded with an interactive session where students could ask questions and explore career opportunities in automation and telecommunications. This experience provided crucial exposure to real-world applications, motivating students to pursue emerging fields in technology.
