The Department of Mechanical Engineering orchestrated a one-day visit on 17th August 2024, offering a unique opportunity for its 3rd-semester students to explore the intricate world of machining at NSSL Pvt. Ltd, a part of the esteemed Neco Group of Industries. Located in MIDC Hingna, Nagpur, the visit provided a total of 24 students and three faculty members with an enriching and invaluable experience.

Neco Group was founded by Mr. Jayaswal Basant Lall Shaw and is engaged primarily in the Ferrous Foundry Business and Integrated Steel Manufacturing. The group has diversified its activities in Automobile Component Manufacturing, Machining, Steel, Power, Foundry, Industrial Pipeline Valves, Steel Fabrication, Defence, etc.

NSSL Limited (formerly Neco Schubert and Salzer Limited) was established in 1988-89. It is a part of Neco Group, which was incorporated in 1976. The visit was carried out under the guidance of Mr Pranay Rokde and his management team, who gave the students a brief orientation session followed by a guided tour during the industrial visit.

Students were able to gain practical knowledge about the various machining processes of conventional and CNC machines for Industrial valves, thanks to the guidance and support of faculty coordinators Prof. Sandhya Umare, Prof. Manish Bhadke, and Prof. Anthony Augustine. Their efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the visit.
