Expert talk on Preventive Measures Against Modern Techniques of Cyber Crime

The Department of Basic Sciences & Humanities had organized an expert talk on “Preventive Measures Against  Modern Techniques of  Cyber Crime” on 30th April, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. for First year students of section E, F, G, H, I .

Mr. Amol Dilip Dond, Assistant Police Officer, Maharashtra Police was invited as the guest. Mr. Dond has trained more than 13000 people and police personnel and has been felicitated by Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in 2007 and also by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra in 2017. Sir has more than 83 awards to his credit and he held the 6th rank in MPSC exam in Maharashtra.

The main objective of the talk was to keep students informed about the growing Cyber Crimes and staying safe from the ongoing frauds in today's fast changing, digital world.

Mr. Dond explained to the students the Importance of National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and how to lodge a complaint on it. He further spoke on how fraudsters and hackers steal our Banking Credentials and stressed on staying safe by not clicking unknown links, sharing debit cards details and OTP. He also insisted students to refer to official website rather than using Google for queries related to financial work.

The statistics and information shared regarding Cyber Crime and Cyber Safety served as an eye opener to all. He practically made the audience peep into their phone settings and urged them to change them to be safe on all digital platforms. Nearly 200 students and also faculty members benefited from this talk and found this information extremely helpful.The Expert Talk was coordinated by Dr. Kirti Sahu and Co & Extra Curricular Incharge, Dr. Ashish Bodhaye.
