FDP on ‘AI & Deep Learning’

The Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering had organized a one-week online Faculty Development Program on ‘Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning’, from 27th Oct to 03rd Nov, 2020 in association with E&ICT Academy IIT and support from Digital Shark Technology. Online inauguration of the FDP was held on 27th October, 2020 at 10 am. Along with dignitaries from E&ICT Academy, IIT Guwahati, Principal of our College Dr. Surendra Gole and HOD, E&TC, Dr. Ashutosh Werulkar were also present.

A Webinar was held on 20th October, 2020 from 10:00am to 10:30pm, on Cisco WebEx meeting platform before beginning the FDP so as to connect with the participants and give important instructions for the FDP sessions that would follow.

Mr. Mohan H.M. and Mr. Avikumar, the two experts from Digital Shark Technology, conducted all the sessions. Some of the topics covered during the FDP were- Recent Trends in Artificial Intelligence, Introduction to Python and Python Programming, Data Analytics, Machine Learning including Supervised Learning methods, Unsupervised Learning methods, Deep Learning including Artificial Neural Networks, Conventional Neural Network, Natural Language Processing, Recurrent Neural Network using LSTM & Working with GPU (Demo). Participants submitted their project work on the last day.

The online daily class delivery was through Cisco WebEx Meeting. The morning and afternoon sessions were from 10:00am to 01:00pm & 03:00pm to 05:00pm respectively. Google Classroom was utilized to upload course material, datasets, assignments, MCQs, and project work for the participants.

26 participants (faculty members) benefitted through this FDP, 13 of them were from our College and remaining 13 were from across India. The content delivery by the experts was exceptional, according to the feedback received from participants. Valedictory program was held on 3rd November, 2020 at 3.30 pm.

This FDP was coordinated by Dr. Hema Kale & Dr. Raghwan under the guidance of Dr. A. S. Werulkar, Asso. Prof. & Head, E&TC Department.
