Civista 7.0: Fostering Innovation and Technical Excellence in Civil Engineering
Civista 7.0 is an annual technical event organized by the Department of Civil Engineering to enhance technical knowledge, creativity, innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities among civil engineering students on 10 September 2026. The event provides a dynamic platform for students to apply their skills, explore innovative ideas, and gain practical learning experiences beyond the classroom.
The event commenced with a warm welcome to the distinguished guest, Dr. Abhay G. Hirekhan, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering and staff members of Civil Department. The inaugural ceremony began with a brief introduction to Civista 7.0, followed by an overview of the activities organized as part of the event.
Mr. Krish Thete and Ms. Wania Margo, Student Coordinators of Civista 7.0, introduced the participants to the four engaging activities planned for the event. Dr. Abhay G. Hirekhan, Head of Department highlighted the importance of organizing such technical events and encouraged students to actively participate, develop their skills, and strengthen their professional connections.
More than 200 students enthusiastically participated in the four activities: SketchUp, Elevate, Shark Tank GenNext, and Fraud Files. Each activity was designed to encourage creativity, technical proficiency, logical thinking, innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Prof. Yashashree S. Dhale and Prof. Ram P. Kinikar, Faculty Coordinators of Civista 7.0, provided valuable guidance and mentorship to the organizing team throughout the event. Their support and coordination played an important role in the successful execution of the activities.
Overall, Civista 7.0 provided students with an enriching platform to showcase their abilities, explore new ideas, and develop essential technical and professional skills. The event successfully promoted learning, collaboration, innovation, and active engagement among civil engineering students.
