The Department of Engineering, Sciences & Humanities organised SWAGATAM 2026–27 on September 24, 2026, to ceremonially welcome the incoming B.Tech First Year students and their parents. The event was attended by 800 B.Tech First Year students and 200 parents and was held at the Multi Facility Center from 10:00 a.m. onwards.

The ceremony commenced with a formal welcome by the Master of Ceremony, Mrs. Sonia Francis, followed by the traditional lamp lighting by the dignitaries along with student and parent representatives, symbolizing enlightenment and new beginnings. Fr. Siju Jose offered a scripture reading, followed by a welcome dance by the students.

Dr. Fr. Paul Chandrankunnel, Director, delivered the welcome address and warmly greeted the new students and their families. A video on the Clean and Green Campus highlighted the institution’s commitment to sustainability. Dr. Prashant Maheshwary, Principal, addressed the gathering on the institution’s vision and academic aspirations, followed by a presentation on the Institute’s Road Map.

Dr. Smita Tolani, HoD, ES&H introduced the department and its role in building a strong foundation for first-year students. Presentations by SADC and the Training and Placement Cell provided insights into student clubs, campus activities, training initiatives, and career opportunities. Dr. Pramod Lanjewar, Dean Academics, explained the academic framework of the institute.

The programme also featured blessings from Most Reverend Elias Gonsalves, Archbishop of Nagpur, and Rev. Fr. Antony H. Roswan, Chairman, The Nagpur Pallottine Society. Cultural performances included a choir song and the Senior Showcase.

Academic excellence was celebrated through the felicitation of End Semester Examination Toppers of 2025–26 and faculty members who conducted the AI & Python and Communication BOOTCAMP. A video presentation by the respective Heads of Department introduced the various engineering branches offered by the institute.

The programme concluded with reflections from a parent and First Year student representatives, followed by the Vote of Thanks by Mr. Atish Gour, marking a warm and memorable beginning to the students’ journey.
