Industrial Visit to Gorewada Water Treatment Plant
Civil Engineering Department of St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology Nagpur organized a site visit to Water Treatment Plant, Gorewada as a part of curriculum.
The Gorewada Water Treatment Plant (WTP), located near Gorewada Lake in Nagpur, serves as a key facility for the city's drinking water supply, with a capacity of 136 MLD. Raw water is primarily sourced from the Pench River and Kanhan River via interconnected systems, including gravity mains from balancing tanks. The plant processes approximately 75% of Nagpur's total water demand. Site visit was organized on 07-09-2026 for III semester Civil Engineering students. The objective was to study various conventional water treatment processes.
Around 60 civil engineering students joined the visit under the guidance of faculty Prof. Akash Kaley, Prof. Mrs. Kusum Balani and Prof. Rohit Bhosle. Plant Manager explained in detailed about the structure and working of the water purification plant and offered a visit to the concerned areas. Students got an excellent benefit by visiting the water treatment plant.
