The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security), St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology, Nagpur, organized an expert lecture on “Cyber Forensics” dated 11-08-2026 by Mr. Shrikant Ardhapurkar, Legal Data Forensic Pvt. Ltd., Nagpur. The session was aimed at providing students with practical and industry-oriented knowledge of digital forensic investigation, evidence handling, and incident response.

The expert explained the importance of understanding the nature of a cyber incident before beginning a forensic investigation. He discussed the systematic process of identifying, collecting, preserving, examining, analyzing, and reporting digital evidence, with particular emphasis on maintaining evidence integrity and ensuring that forensic findings are suitable for legal and judicial proceedings.

The lecture also introduced students to a practical approach for conducting forensic experiments and investigating cyber incidents. The expert highlighted the role of a forensic investigator in analyzing evidence objectively, documenting findings properly, and supporting incident response activities.

The session enabled students to connect classroom concepts with real-world forensic practices and enhanced their understanding of the professional, technical, and legal responsibilities involved in cyber forensic investigations. The lecture was informative and interactive and provided valuable exposure to career opportunities in Cyber Forensics, Digital Investigation, Incident Response, and Cybersecurity.
