Nagpur, August 6,2026: The NSS Unit of St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology (SVPCET), Nagpur, successfully organized a Tree Plantation Drive under Project Nisargavedh in collaboration with the CHIP Foundation, Nagpur Chapter, at Dongargaon, Chandrapur–Wardha Road.

The initiative focused on promoting environmental conservation, biodiversity, wildlife protection, and sustainable development. As part of the drive, more than 150 saplings were planted at the project site, contributing towards the development of a greener and healthier ecosystem.

A major highlight of Project Nisargavedh was the conservation of 36 acres of forest land for wildlife and biodiversity conservation. The initiative aims to preserve natural habitats, support wildlife, and contribute to long-term ecological sustainability in the region.

The plantation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from 36 student volunteers representing CSEDS, AI, IT, B.Voc, ME, and IIOT departments. Six faculty members also actively participated in the initiative and encouraged students to take responsibility for environmental conservation.

The college expressed its sincere gratitude to Mr. Sukesh Gandhi, Founder of the CHIP Foundation, and the entire CHIP NGO team for their valuable collaboration and support. Special appreciation was extended to the faculty coordinators Dr. Ashlesha Nagpure, Mrs. Shipla Kawale, Dr. Priti Upakar, Dr. Sachin Nagmote, Dr. Nerkar, and Dr. Ashish Dandekar, along with all the student volunteers who contributed to making the initiative a success.

The Tree Plantation Drive under Project Nisargavedh reflects the NSS Unit's commitment to environmental protection, wildlife conservation, and social responsibility. The initiative serves as a meaningful step towards creating a sustainable environment and inspiring young students to become responsible custodians of nature.
