Communication Bootcamp for B.Tech First Semester
The department of Engineering, Sciences & Humanities, successfully organized a three-day Communication Bootcamp for B.Tech First Semester Students 2025–26 on 6th, 8th and 9th September 2025, from 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM. The programme was conducted at the Multi-Facility Centre and Seminar Rooms in Block B, with the participation of 600+ students.
The bootcamp aimed to enhance students’ communication skills, build confidence in speaking and presenting ideas, and provide an engaging, activity-based learning environment. Across the three days, students participated in interactive grammar, public speaking, extempore speaking, self-introduction and formal communication sessions, along with creative and collaborative activities.
The first day focused on grammar fundamentals, ice-breaking activities and video making. The second day emphasized spoken communication through public speaking, extempore, tongue twisters and the engaging Newspaper Fashion Challenge, which promoted creativity, teamwork and presentation skills. The final day focused on self-introduction, formal communication and poster making on social themes, encouraging creativity, awareness and visual communication.
Student feedback reflected a highly positive response, with most participants rating the bootcamp as Good or Excellent and appreciating its interactive approach, smooth organization and contribution to their confidence and communication skills.
The programme was coordinated by Ms. Mamta Chhabriya, Ms. Vrushali Pethe, Dr. Shakuntala Yadav, Ms. Ganga Pal, Ms. Sonia Francis and Sr. Elizabeth Bina, with valuable support from all First Year faculty members. Under the leadership of Dr. Smita Tolani, the bootcamp successfully provided first-year students with a meaningful platform to strengthen communication, teamwork, creativity and interpersonal skills.
