Interactive session on ‘Significance of Digital Signal Processing in Industry & Its Applications’
The Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering organized an interactive session on “Significance of Digital Signal Processing in Industry & Its Applications” on 8 April 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in Room No. F-07 for the 6th semester students of E & T. The session was conducted by Mr. P. Chandrasekhar, Project Manager, IBM Pvt. Ltd., India, with a total of 52 students participating. The objective of the session was to create awareness about the application of DSP concepts in industry and to understand their use in real-world applications.
The expert began the session by interacting with students to assess their understanding of signal processing concepts. He explained the role of DSP in various algorithms, including data preprocessing, data analysis, data processing, machine learning algorithms, feedback systems, and data refinement. The session covered topics from vector algebra to DFT and FFT, highlighting their importance in modern technological developments. He also discussed applications such as ADAS, biometric identification, and pattern recognition across domains like speech, image, and video processing, emphasizing the relevance of DSP in industry.
The session provided valuable insights into the practical implementation of DSP concepts, helping students understand their significance in real-world applications and the importance of fundamental mathematics in engineering. The session was coordinated by Prof. M. N. Kapse and co-coordinated by Prof. Nishat Faizee.
