Contouring Project
The Civil Engineering Department of St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology, Nagpur had organized a Project as a part of Survey Camp on “Grid Contouring” on Wednesday, 11th February 2026 for the 2nd year students.
The main purpose of the project was to determine and map the elevation of various points on the ground to create a 2D representation of the 3D terrain, using contour lines to connect points of equal altitude. The camp was carried out at a site in Panchgaon, Umred Road highway. It was a day-long event and students enthusiastically participated in the project, wherein they used the leveling equipments to plot the elevations of 100 points on the ground. The points were transferred onto drawing sheets to plot a 2D map.
The event was coordinated by Prof. Sujin George, Mr. Raj Sonare and Mr. Nilesh Dighekar accompanied the students for proper conduction of the camp.
