Two Days Faculty Industry Visit at Hyderabad

The Department of Computer Engineering successfully conducted a two-day Faculty Industrial Visit to Hyderabad on 19th and 20th September 2024. The visit aimed to foster industry-institute collaboration, explore internship opportunities, secure research-funded projects, and arrange future faculty and student industry visits.

Faculty members visited prominent institutions, including the Defense Research & Development Organization (DRDO), Zen Technologies Pvt Ltd, the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) - ISRO, t-Hub, and IIIT Hyderabad's iHub Data Centre. At DRDO, Dr. Mallikarjun Rao showcased missile technology and ongoing research, while Dr. V. K. Kabra, Project Director, SAAW, discussed potential collaboration opportunities. At Zen Technologies, Brig. Adil Mohammad and Mr. Kailash Singh demonstrated real-time simulators for armed forces training.

During their visit to NRSC, ISRO, Dr. Jaya Saxena and Dr. V. V. Ganesh briefed the group on geospatial applications and research activities at the center. At t-Hub, a prestigious innovation hub, Mr. Vinay facilitated discussions on startup mentoring, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Finally, at IIIT Hyderabad, Dr. Sachin Chaudhari, Dr. C. K. Raju, and Dr. K. Madhav Krishna showcased cutting-edge research and funding projects in signal processing, data hubs, and robotics.

The faculty team comprised Dr. D. W. Wajgi, Prof. K. K. Gehani, Prof. V. V. Deshpande, and Prof. R. C. Roychaudhary, with Prof. Roychaudhary coordinating the visit on behalf of the III Cell, Department of Computer Engineering.
