The Department of Engineering, Sciences, and Humanities at St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology commenced the new academic year with the theme “Swagatam: New Beginnings, Endless Possibilities,” on September 14 at the Multifacility Centre.

The event began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the illumination of knowledge, followed by scripture reading by Fr. Roby. Swanandi Bokshe and Chaitrali Bele, first-year students, added a vibrant touch to the ceremony with their lively welcome dance.

Dr. Sucheta Mohrair, Head of ES&H, welcomed the new students and encouraged them to engage enthusiastically in both academics and extracurricular activities.

Addresses were delivered by Fr. Paul Chandrankunnel, Director; Prof. R. B. Gowardhan, Institute Mentor; and Dr. Vijay Wadhai, Principal, who introduced the Tech Pallottine values and the institute’s expectations.

The ceremony also highlighted achievements from the past year, with special recognition for top academic performers and stars in sports and co-curricular activities. A notable video message from alumnus Madhav Somani, now at Microsoft, USA, provided further inspiration.

Heads of Departments provided valuable insights into their respective programs, offering new students a comprehensive overview of their academic paths.

The event was organized by Dr. Jyoti Thakre and Mrs. Namrata Gore, in collaboration with the Admission, Media and Publication, and Student Affairs and Development Cells. The ceremony was masterfully led by Ms. Mamta Chhabriya and Mr. Atish Gour. It concluded with a formal vote of thanks from Dr. Jyoti Thakre, setting an inspiring tone for the upcoming academic year.
