Traffic Volume Survey
Department of Civil Engineering has successfully organized “TRAFFIC VOLUME SURVEY” at Ajni Square, Nagpur dated 14/08/2024 for B. Tech final year Civil Engineering Students. This Co-Curricular activity has been taken out in the domain of Traffic Engineering.
The traffic volume survey was conducted to assess the flow of vehicles, which is a key area for understanding traffic patterns and planning for infrastructure improvements. The survey aimed to gather data on the number, type, and movement patterns of vehicles over a specified period.
Final Year students performed the traffic volume survey by counting all the category of vehicles such as Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) consists Cars, Vans then Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) includes Trucks, Buses, further Two-Wheelers like Motorcycles, Scooters, also Others [Include any other categories relevant to survey] moving in a particular direction and also recorded that in the data sheets.
The study was carried out to design average daily traffic and for Traffic forecasting. The activity was coordinated by Prof. K.S. Balani and Prof. R.N. Bhosle.
