Report on “Self Defense”

On 2nd August 2024, the NSS Cell and Grievance Redressal Cell organized a session on “Self Defense” for 2nd year Girls students of all branches. The session was conducted by Dr. Chhaya Janbandhu, a renowned expert in self-empowerment and self-defense. Dr. Chhaya began the session by emphasizing the importance of confidence and self-expression. She encouraged students to speak for themselves, set boundaries, and believe in their worth. To cultivate a positive mindset, she introduced simple yet effective morning breathing techniques. Dr. Chhaya stressed the significance of self-affirmations in reprogramming our minds with positive thoughts and beliefs. By repeating empowering statements, we can overcome self-doubt, build resilience, and unlock our full potential. Dr. Chhaya shared her inspiring personal story of courage and determination. Dr. Chhaya taught practical self-defense techniques, focusing on vital body points to target while defending ourselves. Girls Students learned various methods to protect themselves. Dr. Chhaya emphasized the importance of equality and the responsible use of self-defense techniques. Students pledged to use these skills only for defense, not misuse, and to promote a culture of respect and empathy. The session concluded with a motivational rendition of "Hum Honge Kamiyaab" (We Shall Overcome), leaving with a sense of unity and determination. Dr. Chhaya's empowering words and practical techniques have inspired girls to become more confident, self-assured, and prepared to face life's challenges.The session was Coordinated by Dr.Ashlesha Nagpure and Prof.Shabana Pathan.
