The Department of Mechanical Engineering at St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology organized an International conference on "Technological Innovations & Applications in Industry 4.0: Challenges and Way Ahead" (ICTIA-2024), inaugurated by Chief Guest, Mr. Arvind Kumar, Center Head of TCS Nagpur, and Guest of Honor, Dr. Pramod Padole, Director of VNIT, Nagpur, in the presence of SVPCET Director Fr. Dr. Paul Chandrankunnel, Financial Administrator Fr. Siju Jose, Principal Dr. S. V. Gole, Institute Mentor Prof. R. B. Gowardhan, Honorary Chair of the conference Dr. P. B. Lanjewar, Conveners Dr. Sushant S. Satputaley and Dr. Minaj Ahemad, Co-conveners Dr. A. R. Bhende, and Dr. V. C. Sontake, along with guests from other institutions.

The objective of organizing the conference was to bring researchers from all over the world to a common platform to discuss technological advancements and challenges in the field of Industry 4.0. Aligned with "Make in India" and "Samarth 4.0," initiated by the Government of India, the conference focused on four tracks: Technological Innovation, Application in Industry 4.0, Challenges in Industry 4.0, and the Future of Industrial Revolution.

Among the prominent universities that participated in the conference were Warwick University, UK; NIT Silchar; Amrita Vidyapeetham; Galgotia University; Lovely Professional University; GITAM University; Design & Simulation Cell Amararaja Batteries; Department of Planning, Govt of Maharashtra; Institute of Cost Accountants of India; and BITS Goa, to name a few.

The conference opened the research paper submission link on February 1st, 2024, and closed on March 30th, 2024. It received a total of 353 papers under various tracks. More than 75 reviewers carried out the review process. A total of 245 papers were shortlisted for oral presentation. Approximately 500 participants presented 215 technical papers over the two days of the conference in 20 different parallel sessions.

During the two-day period, 20 parallel oral presentation sessions were conducted, of which 16 sessions were offline, and 4 were online sessions. A total of 40 experts worked as session chairs, of which 21 were from reputed institutions in and around RTM Nagpur University. Out of all the submitted papers, 25 papers were selected for Best Paper awards.
