AI Students Visit Anurag University at Hyderabad

The Department of Artificial Intelligence organized an insightful industrial visit to Hyderabad from February 24 to 26, 2024. Accompanied by two faculty members, Prof. Pooja Wagh and Prof. Sachin Patil, 35 4th-semester students explored Anurag University, NRSC (National Remote Sensing Centre), and INCOIS (Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services).

Commencing at Anurag University, the visit coincided with Daksha 3.0, a cultural techno fest. Students actively participated in numerous events, securing top positions in competitions such as Jenga and the Squid Game. Grateful for the warm reception, the students appreciated the unique exposure and engaging atmosphere at Anurag University.

On February 26, the delegation proceeded to NRSC, where Dr. R. Srinivas provided a comprehensive overview of ISRO, covering satellite intricacies and fuel specifications. A subsequent Q&A session offered insights into securing internships and pursuing careers at ISRO. The visit also included an exhibition showcasing satellite models contributing to the nation's development.

Continuing their exploration, the students visited INCOIS, where Dr. Siddharth Sahoo outlined the organization's projects and working culture. Four labs within the campus highlighted various aspects, including data gathering from the ocean, seismographic observations, operational ocean services, and ocean data reception and processing systems. These labs underscored the significance of spatial data, satellite image acquisition, and the potential application of Artificial Intelligence in oceanic analysis.

In addition to the educational aspects, the trip featured visits to prominent landmarks such as Snow World, Birla Temple, Golconda Fort, and Telangana Secretariat. The overall experience significantly enriched the students' technical knowledge and management skills, and the Department expresses gratitude to the management for facilitating this enlightening visit to prestigious organizations.
