The Students' Induction & Orientation Programme

The Students' Induction & Orientation Programme at St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology (SVPCET) aimed to seamlessly integrate new students into the institute's culture and provide them with essential skills for academic and personal success. It was planned to welcome first-year engineering students, providing a comprehensive introduction to the college culture, resources, academic expectations, and support systems.

On August 07, 2023 the students were taken on a tour to familiarize themselves with the campus, including academic buildings, laboratories, libraries, sports facilities, and recreational areas, ensuring easy navigation.

On August 08, 2023, the Students Affair and Development Cell (SADC) aimed to instill discipline and maintain decorum in the college. Dr. Dinesh Wankhede, in charge of the first year, briefed students on the academic curriculum, assessment methods, extracurricular activities, clubs, and personal growth opportunities. Dr. Surendra Gole, the Principal (SVPCET), emphasized human excellence, encouraging students to strive without stress and consistently work towards becoming the best in their engineering field.

Team Formula Ashwariders engaged with students on August 09, 2023, promoting knowledge of building formula vehicles for motorsports. Emphasizing design, manufacturing, testing, and racing, the Ashwariders BAJA team inspired first-year students to pursue the goal of creating a single-seat sporting vehicle. Director Fr. James addressed students on goal setting, adapting to changing engineering trends, and prioritizing studies, wishing them success in their maiden academic year.

The program began with a warm welcome on August 10, 2023, and a session by Fr Dr. Paul Chandrankunnel, Director, SVPCET was conducted on "Know Your Institute: Know Pallotti", which provided students an insightful overview of the institute's history, values, and vision.

The day unfolded with Proficiency Modules, addressing critical aspects of academic and personal development. Prof. A. Banerjee conducted an interactive session on public speaking, emphasizing its significance. The afternoon sessions continued with a focus on career prospects and opportunities, providing valuable insights into the placement process and industry expectations.

On August 11, 2023, the program delved deeper into academic and personal development with Prof. R. B. Gowardhan, the Institute Mentor, sharing valuable perspectives. Expert sessions addressed contemporary issues, with Mrs. Sonia Francis discussing mobile addiction among teenagers, fostering awareness and understanding.

Further activities on August 14, 2023, included sessions on technological initiatives and administrative aspects of the institute, providing students with a holistic understanding. The program successfully achieved its objectives by introducing students to essential skills, technological initiatives, and administrative aspects.

The seminar on August 17, 2023, focused on contemporary challenges in the digital age, featuring discussions on cybercrime prevention and mobile addiction. Expert speakers highlighted preventive measures and the impact of excessive mobile usage, fostering awareness and understanding.

August 18, 2023, featured a day filled with student development activities, including proficiency modules, interactive sessions with the IEDC Coordinator & Team, and peer interactions. These activities aimed to promote holistic development, academic growth, and collaborative learning.

Serving as the Master of Ceremony, Prof. Mamta Chhabriya extended a heartfelt welcome, while dignitaries and student representatives illuminated the occasion. Fr.
