SVPCET Hosts Enlightening Session on Internet of Things (IoT) with Renowned Computer Scientist, Prof. Rajiv Ranjan

St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology, Nagpur, recently orchestrated a knowledge-rich session on Internet of Things (IoT) for both faculty members and students on January 10th, 2024.

The session, led by Prof. Rajiv Ranjan, Chair Professor in Computing Science and Internet of Things at Newcastle University, United Kingdom, commenced with a warm welcome from the college management at 12:50 pm. Known for his ground-breaking research in distributed computing, Prof. Rajiv has secured a remarkable grant of over 32 million Australian dollars.

Starting at 1:00 pm, the technical session delved into the expansive realm of the Internet of Things, exploring its diverse applications. Prof. Rajiv elucidated on the effective management and monitoring of IoT devices by seamlessly integrating data, technology, and research. During the engaging session, Prof. Rajiv expanded on various concepts related to IoT, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence, demonstrating their cohesive application to solve real-life problems. He also shed light on how companies can leverage IoT and AI to innovate in a cyber-secure manner. The session proved to be both interesting and interactive, providing a valuable learning experience for all attendees.

Following the technical session, Prof. Rajiv toured various laboratories at SVPCET, including the SAE Club, Workshop, e-Yantra Lab, AI Intel Unnati Lab, AR VR Lab, IOT Lab, and the Industry Sponsored Cymetrix Lab. Students seized the opportunity to showcase their ongoing and completed projects to the esteemed guest, earning appreciation for their commendable work from both students and faculty members alike.
