SITE VISIT AT “RESIDENTIAL BUILDING”

The Department of Civil Engineering had organised a site visit at “Residential building located in Manish Nagar, Nagpur” for the V semester students as a part of the curriculum on 12th December 2023.

The primary objective of the site visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the various aspects of reinforced cement concrete structures, including design, construction, and quality control. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge acquired in classrooms and real-world applications.

Students had the opportunity to observe and analyze various structural components, including columns, beams, slabs, and staircase. Discussions were held on the types of reinforcements used, load-bearing capacities, and the overall structural stability of the building.

Students also had the opportunity to interact with site engineers, construction workers, and other personnel involved in the project. This provided valuable insights into the practical challenges faced during construction and the collaborative efforts required for successful project completion.

The site visit proved to be an enriching experience for the fifth-semester students of SVPCET, Nagpur. It served as a practical extension of their classroom learning, offering a glimpse into the intricacies of reinforced cement concrete structures. The exposure to real-world construction practices, challenges, and solutions will undoubtedly enhance their understanding and prepare them for future endeavors in the field of civil engineering.

The Civil Engineering Department expresses gratitude to the Mr. Hitendra Moon, KMK Associates, Nagpur for providing this opportunity.

The site visit was coordinated by Dr. Abhay G. Hirekhan and Prof. Uday Singh Patil.
