Navigating Industry Requirements for Successful Placement

The Department of Information Technology conducted an Alumni Interaction on September 1st, 2023. Mr. Suyog Kulkarni, a Software Engineer at Persistent Systems and an alumnus of the 2022 batch, shared valuable insights on "Industry Requirements for Placements."

During the interaction, Mr. Kulkarni underscored the significance of consistency, discipline, a positive approach, and seeking the right guidance in the pursuit of successful placement. He encouraged students to cultivate a resilient attitude and take full responsibility for their personal development, attitude, and behavior. Additionally, he briefed students on various tests, including Aptitude Tests, Mental Ability Tests, and HR or Non-Technical Tests, which are integral to the selection process. The discussion extended to programming languages, software development methodologies, and emerging technologies. Beyond technical skills, the session emphasized the critical role of soft skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability in thriving within the IT sector.

Furthermore, the interaction provided students with an opportunity to connect with peers, exchange ideas, and potentially form study groups for technical interviews. This platform facilitated early preparation for campus placements, equipping students with valuable insights into industry requirements and enhancing their readiness for successful careers in IT.
