TWO-DAY WORKSHOP ON TOTAL STATION AND DRONE

The Department of Civil Engineering had organised a Two-Day Workshop on ‘Total Station and Drones’ for second and third-year students on April 18th and 19th, 2023, within the college premises. 

Dr. Sandeep Shirkhedkar and Dr. Sarang Paranjpe, both Directors of imaGIS Engineering Solutions Pvt Ltd, Nagpur, were the resource persons for Day 1 and Day 2, respectively. They provided a comprehensive overview of the traditional and modern surveying practices, including recent advancements and instruments used in surveying.

The main objective of the lecture was to equip the students with knowledge of modern surveying practices. The speakers emphasized the significance and functioning of the Total Station and Drone system and discussed the latest trends in surveying. After the session, students were taken to the field to get hands-on experience with the instruments on both days. 

The students actively engaged with the talk and enthusiastically participated in the practical application. Fr. Dr. Paul Chandrankunnel, Director, Dr. S.V. Gole, Principal, Prof. R.B. Gowardhan, Institute Mentor and Dr. Chetan Deshpande, HoD, Civil always guide the department to undertake such activities for the betterment of students.

The program was coordinated by Prof. Sujin George, Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering Department, along with other teaching and non-teaching staff members, who worked hard to ensure the success of the program.
