Engineer's day celebration
The Indian Society of Technical Education student chapter at St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology, Nagpur, celebrated Engineer's Day on September 15, 2022.
Mr. Saurabh Mohta, industrialist and entrepreneur, Director Manufacturing operations, Truform Techno Products Ltd and Head of industrial engineering at Kapilansh Dhatu Udyog (P) Ltd. in Nagpur was invited as the Guest.
Fr. Dr. Paul Chandrankunnel, Director, emphasized the importance of Engineer's Day celebration in his welcome speech. He addressed students on the social duty of engineers and challenged them to strive to become excellent engineers with both technical and character traits.
Dr. Surendra Gole, Principal, emphasized the fascinating and interesting facts about Sir M. Visvesvaraya, and his contribution as a civil engineer in utilizing water resources in India. He was the one to design and build numerous river dams, bridges, and revolutionary irrigation systems in India.
Mr. Saurabh Mohta, Chief Guest in his address spoke to students on various facets of engineering and the role that aspiring engineers must play. He advised students to follow in the footsteps of Dr. M. Visvesvaraya and have faith in their goals, and hone their talents to meet the demands of the global marketplace. He emphasized the need for good engineers in society and inspired them to pursue their careers with commitment and enthusiasm.
