International Day of Yoga Celebrated

The NSS Unit, SVPCET celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2022 with great enthusiasm.

As a part of the celebration a 1 hour Yoga session was organized from 10 am to 11 am for students of B.Tech First Year.  Shri Sandeep Shelgaonkar a certified yoga teacher, Shri Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal, Nagpur guided the students and started the yoga session with Prayers, and a systematic practice of different ‘ASANAS” of standing, sitting and laying positions. During the course of “YOGABHYAS”, the yoga teacher also narrated the usefulness of different “ASANAS” as a precautionary measure, in curing many diseases and the usefulness of yoga in the overall wellbeing of a human being.

On the same day, a seminar on ‘Raj Yoga and Meditation for Concentration’ from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm was conducted by Shri B.K. Ramchandra, a certified Yoga teacher from Brahmakumari, Nagpur. Students of B.Tech First Year gained knowledge about the significance of ‘The Bhagwat Geeta’ in daily life and how to look within to discover a purpose and passion for life. The benefits of meditation were explained and a guided meditation was then experienced by students.

The Program was coordinated by Dr. Ashlesha Nagpure, NSS Program Officer, Prof. Anthony Augustine and Dr. Hema Kale.
