ME Department organizes ‘Skill Development Course’

A skill development course on ‘Machinery Fault Diagnosis and Signal Processing’ was organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with Condition Monitoring Society of India. Duration of the course was 35 hours, 1st August 2019 to 11th February 2020. Twenty five students from pre-final year and final year of Mechanical Engineering successfully completed this course.

The course gave insights such as to condition base monitoring of mechanical components widely used in the industry and enabled students to select an appropriate instrumentation and signal processing techniques for machinery fault diagnosis. This course expects students to be employment ready in the field of condition monitoring.

Coordinators of this course were Dr. Amit R. Bhende (Course Co-ordinator) and Prof. Namrata Nagpurkar (Course Co-coordinator). The concluding session was on 11th Feb 2020, students had an interactive session with Dr. A. R. Mohanty (Professor and Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT Kharagpur) on the topic ‘Future of Condition Monitoring in Industry’.
