Expert lecture on BS6 and EATS familiarization

An expert lecture on BS6 and EATS (Exhaust After Treatment Systems) familiarization was delivered by Mr. Varun Raval, alumnus (2009 batch) ETC Department. He is a Strategist Manager at VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (A Volvo Group and Eicher Motors JV). Students of the 6th semester from Mechanical Engineering and Electronics Telecommunication Department benefitted through this session.

Mr. Raval shared his journey of engineering education and career in the automobile industry after completing his engineering in E&TC. He further narrated his own experiences of the interview process and ways to get successful in any interview after engineering education. He  also gave insights on current trends in the industry and key areas of employment in the coming years.

The alumnus introduced students to new and advanced perspectives of the automobile autonomy and spoke about Euro and Bharat Stage Emission Norms. By sharing the pollution scenario from the automobile industry, he justified the need of switching from BS-4 to BS-6 directly to reduce pollution emitted from vehicles in order to target high life expectancy of human beings. For reducing this pollution and harmful gases emitted from engine exhaust the comparison between Petrol and Diesel engine exhaust gases were discussed.

The concluding remark made by Mr. Varun Raval was, “All things are difficult, before they are easy”. Dr. Ashutosh Werulkar, HOD, ETC Department honoured him with a Memento at the end.
