Induction & Orientation Program, 2021-22

The Department of Basic Sciences & Humanities had organized a two week Induction & Orientation Program from 20th December, 2021 to 4th January, 2022, in accordance with the guidelines as prescribed by AICTE. The aim being to reinforce the fundamental concepts, bridge the gap that exists and enable the fresh batch of students to feel welcomed and at home in their new surroundings. Due to the Pandemic as a precautionary measure students were seated in two seminar halls respectively. There were students who attended the sessions in online mode too.

20th December,  2021,  marked the commencement of the Induction program. In their inaugural addresses, Director, Dr. Fr. Paul Chandrankunnel, followed by Principal Dr. S. V. Gole and Prof. R. B. Gowardhan, Institute Mentor, each extended their warm welcome to the first year students into the Tech Pallottine family. This was followed by interactive cultural display session lead by senior student mentors. Students were also introduced to the Creative Arts Display activity.

Students witnessed an array of events in which Management Members, College Faculty and experts from various fields had interacted with them which proved to provide a visualization to distinguish Personal, Professional, Academic and Social life with ease and a clear picture of self, the vitality of Human Values and Communication in general. Each day began with Yoga and Meditation, a special session on Sahaj Yoga was also organized for students, encouraging them to enter into the world within themselves which would lead towards deeper self awareness, personal efficacy and empathy with others. Apart from the sessions held students  toured the college premises to acquaint themselves with the infrastructure and central level facilities. A special session was also kept where students visited their home Departments and interacted with the respective HoDs and faculty members.  Part of the schedule were two Panel Discussions namely ‘Career Avenues after Engineering Graduation’ and ‘Enrichment During Engineering Education’, Dr. S. V. Gole, Principal, moderated the sessions, HoDs and Senior Faculty members were panelists.

4th January, 2022,  was the last day of the induction program. The day ended with the Creative Arts Display Presentation, students put up the art created by them during the exhibition and cultural program, a huge participation by the freshers was witnessed.

Master of Ceremony for each day’s program were the new entrants, doing a wonderful job at it. Faculty members of the Department were actively involved in different roles of the program. Dr. Ashish Bodhaye, Dr. Kiran Khandarkar and Prof. Sonia Francis were coordinators of the Induction & Orientation Program, receiving full support and guidance from Prof. Namrata Gore, Incharge, BS&H, Department, Principal and Management of the Institute.
